Bobby Bright Now and Then
25 Jan 2010 7:49 AM

Talking out of both sides of their mouth is not that unusual for alot of politicians, and the public has become used to it for the most part. It is still important to point out inconsistencies when they occur.

In an interview on Jan. 17th, 2010 Congressman Bobby bright expressed his desire to have a vote of the people on the issue of Electronic Bingo. Bright also asserted that it was not up to him to tell the people of his District what they should do,"What we all could do is agree on a referendum and let the people decide.I also am a public servant speaking for my constituents.  And whatever they choose to do, however they choose to live their life in their communities, I will honor that."

This position that the Congressman has expressed seems in direct opposition to the comments made by then candidate Bobby Bright on the steps of the Houston County Courthouse on March 13th, 2008. During a rally held by the Christian Coalition, special guest Montgomery Mayor Bobby Bright was emphatic in his description of what he called "illegal gambling,/ slot machines."

Bright had much more to say about what the, "clean Christian" people of Houston County Could, and should do to keep gaming out of our Community. Click HERE to listen, and decide for yourself.
